Meet the Passionate Owners Behind Nevermoor Hollow Stables

Updated: Oct 4, 2025

When you picture a stable, you might envision beautiful horses, lush pastures, and the pleasant smell of hay. However, what truly breathes life into these stables are the dedicated owners who put their hearts into their work. In this blog post, we will introduce you to the passionate owners of Nevermoor Hollow Stables, exploring their inspiring stories, motivations, and the love they share for their four-legged companions.

The Heart of the Stables

Every stable has its own unique story, shaped by the owners' backgrounds and experiences. For many of these owners, their love for horses began in childhood, often sparked by their first pony ride. Alexa Silvasy, the owner and manager of Nevermoor Hollow, started riding at 4 years old. Horses are her passion in life and she finds joy and meaning in caring for them. Alexa used to show in hunter-jumper horse shows in Delaware's Triangle Show Series with her first horse a Morgan named Rosie. Unfortunately Rosie passed away way to early and after losing such a great horse, she started just riding and training her 2 OTTB geldings Fly and Bob.

Alexa wouldn't be able to have done any of the horse things she has done without her mother Trisha Silvasy. Even though Trisha did not have any experience with horses, Trisha learned everything she could and with the help of amazing trainers grew to love the horse life. Trisha has been the horse show groom and backbone of her child's riding career. Trisha is a two-time cancer surviver who practically is the "handyman" of Nevermoor. She also has a retired mare of her own Josie May. They enjoy light trails and just spending time together. Trisha also has chickens and plans to open a farm stand at the stable for everyone to enjoy!

A Commitment to Care

A defining trait of stable owners is their relentless commitment to their horses' well-being. Each horse has its own personality and needs, and owners take the time to understand and nurture those individual requirements.

For instance, even though this is their first time owning their own farm they are not new to everything it takes to run a barn. Alexa has been working as a farm hand on and off since 2018 at a co-op barn then at her last farm. Trisha has been doing it longer as the groom at many farms and show seasons. After doing this farm work at Nevermoor since December 2024, they have come up with tailored care for their three horses. They have overcome plenty of challenges at the start of owning this farm, from having to scrub the place clean from the last owners, to finding the right feeds and hay for the horses. Josie is our 28 year old mare who is a VERY hard keeper, though our trials and errors we have finally got her to the best weight she has been, with light ground work and full turn out days she gained some muscle back too.

Overcoming Challenges

Owning a stable comes with its own set of hurdles. Financial pressures, changing regulations, and weather challenges are common. For instance, last year the horses of Nevermoor's owners moved in, in January. Honesty we underestimated how cold it was here, but we figured it out on the fly. With heavy weight blankets having to be shipped over night (thanks amazon prime) to getting a space heater for the tack room due to pipes almost freezing. Before we even moved horses in the barn was in absolute disaster from old hay being left to needed to fix some stall walls and lot and lots of landscaping. We worked all year to get the farm ready for new horses.
